Cascais has, since the 25th of November, another flow in the Ecocenter network, for the recycling of used coffee capsules, with the aim of giving them a new life, regardless of the brands and materials that make them up.
The commitment to environmental sustainability led 12 coffee brands to come together to create a common system for recycling coffee capsules, a pioneering project in Portugal, and Bogani is part of this set of brands.
Anyone can deposit their used capsules, regardless of the brand or the materials they are made of (plastic or aluminum and coffee grounds) to be completely recycled. In the recycler, the capsules are treated allowing the different materials to be separated and given a second life. Coffee grounds are converted into organic compost for agricultural use and other products that promote circularity; the collected aluminum, since it is infinitely recyclable, can be transformed into new everyday objects (ballpoint pens, mechanical pencils, others); and from plastic a material is produced that will be used to manufacture new objects.
